For smooth transition and the best experience I'd love to have a new sim every ~5 years, not every year.

Well Cnopi your going to be extremely dissapointed then, as I was told, the new business model and the only way to survive this genre now is to support each game for roughly 6-9 months then develop a sequel. This is exactly what is happening for CoD, while they bring out Battle of Moscow some time towards the end of or the start of next year, it will include alot of merged core updates to CoD, but only because it was released as an early beta. Graphics beta patch is coming this Friday though.
And after BoM I suspect/would think that the first SDK (Map Maker) will have been released, which is something I could even use, because of how user friendly it appears to be compared to the 'current method'.
