how do I host?

Well, the easy way is to use and existing server. Download the HyperLobby program from HyperFighter website. After you make a username and any other necessary information, then it will take you to the HyperLobby screen where you will see all the current servers online in a list to the left of the screen. If you put your cursor on one of them, then it will let you know what version of IL-2 is needed for that server. Get or use that version and you can click on the server to connect. By the way, next to the name of the online server is a symbol which lets you know how many people are currently in there. Also, some times are much busier for servers than other times. Some servers are used by squadrons once or more per week while others are used every day. Some are not specifically for squadrons and I have seen dozens of pilots flying at a time in the busiest servers once in a while.

Since they are public, you may use them any time that you want, generally speaking. Invite some people to fly with you here or in HyperLobby chat box.
