...thrill and emotions....
I know the feeling of such landings !
Did something like that this week, that turned nasty.
I lost ailerons on F4E to AAA fire.
The rudder acted ever so slowly as ailerons, except had to think about turning in complete reverse.
Missed first approach then made wide circle and tried again.
This time I touched the runway right where I wannted.
Then the plane went more and more to the right heading straight to the control tower building.
Instinctively my wrist started twisting left frantically, as my brain was telling me: NO it's the reverse, No it's reverse, dam it !
But the hand would not obey, and it was already tooo late anyway .
Missed the control tower while I was going more to the right then ever. Went straight towards hangars and fuel tanks.
Pushed, quite fulitly I must say, the eject button, and saw crew go up then all, plane, crew, tanks and hangar, burst in a big ball of flames.
Could not help but thinking: dam, what went wrong in my stupid brain , I nearly had it made, then lost it. hock:
