I just forgot, English people were / are always modest and humble.
The Germans would tried to squeeze at least 12 or more machine guns into a Spitfire :mrgreen:

And We, The French People, would have tried to squeeze only 2 machine guns/cannons, so that's why we've got a lot of plane that had problems with their weapons.. :mrgreen: :) :) :mrgreen:




Concerning the Spit, I've heard that the designer had locked himself into an office in which there was no ruler, to draw the Spitfire. He thus had to draw her only with curved lines. That is why we call Spitfire: 'She': drawn in curved lines as a woman...

Am I wrong ?

BTW, I would like to know if Spitfire comes from this expression "to spit fire"... If someone could confirm, it will be appreciated! :wink:
