Hi,
I have an opinion on these issues, but I feel that it might be interesting to get a discussion going about the state of games and simulations in more categorical terms.
Will OpenGL survive as a viable option for games and simulations in the long term? Will it see use in the most popular computer games in years to come?
Will Java resurge in games with a boost from Google, Android, and others? Will the mobile technology boom be enough to influence such a surge in Java use for games?
What will be the trends in the foreseeable future?
(Notice how I avoided asking specifically about DirectX and C++ ... nyuk, nyuk, nyuk! )
Fireskull
