Notice the minimum wind overlaps with the maximum speed of the carrier. That means if there is no wind, the carrier's ability to launch Panthers would be marginal.

oh thats nothing ive gone backwards on a a ship and still taken off in the f9f so thats not realisitc at all now is it?
even though its not recomended i take off all the time backwards just to see if i can even get it up in the sky.
i havent had much success with the a20 which is wierd cause i can take off backwards with the b-17 ??? so yeah thats my life.

I can barely wait for the Skyraider. This is one bad mother in the ground attack role. Tough, big and able to carry just about anything. It will be an awesome adition to Korea.

My Dad flew the first ADs in an operational squadron, VF20A I think, and then F8F-2 Bearcats in VF-194 way back in 1947-48. He told me that, above 10,000 feet, the Bearcat couldn't hold a candle against the AD. :wink:
