Please, could you explain me why your buttons file is 683 ko and mine (0.93) is 717 ko. And with your buttons file i loose for example the F4U tweaked sample ?
What is the use of the preload file ?

Wasy,

I love your work on the new sounds, but putting this mod into my MODS folder breaks all my other sounds within the files folder. I get your new sounds but then I get the game default sounds back.

And if I just copy your samples and presets into my files folder I still have my .93 sounds.

May I suggest that you provide a better explanation on how to make your new SFX mod work with an existing sound mod? It seems I'm not the only one that has this problem and I really want to use your new sounds but can't if it breaks existing sounds --- such as the allison --- which your mod does not touch.

I have the original files folder and the new MODS folder with wrapper. If I put my old sounds into the mod folder (and I even add a preload statement as a test --- for the allison as an example) it still breaks and I get the game default sounds.

As mentioned above merging your new files within the old files directory gives me the .93 sounds (your new sounds do not replace the .93 I have installed)

I think it's need add in first page


Mod sfx not compatible with old soundmod... You may make it only manuality..

Right I know you need to do it manually

But it is not clear. I did fix it on mine as I understand the dependencies. As an example the new DB605 sounds were not showing up from your mod even though I had merged your files into the existing files/presets and files/samples folders.

The new sounds did not work for the DB until I went in and removed or renamed the DB.600_series.prs file as it seemed that this file took precedence over the new DB.605.series.prs file for loading.

Now is there a page on the site here which explains how these files are loaded when the game initializes, that is the order of the load?

Because I'm not getting this info from the first page of this thread. It is a mystery to me what is the order of load and how the game engine may treat conflicts or duplicates so that I know how to clean up my presets folder to make sure it is loading the right sounds.

Is there a tutorial somewhere which explains this?

I did mix the sounds of SFX 0.5 with sound mod 0.93 as you explained, except for the Kasei engine, because I did not find preset file entry for this engine in file preload of sound mod 0.93. Can I add it? Is there any relation with the buttons file, and should this buttons file be updated, or should I just keep the version from sound mod 0.93?

Simple, kasei preset don't exist in 0.93, in 0.93 kasei used Homare sound.

Hello SG2_Wasy,

Love your sound files.

I have removed 0.93 sounds and am running the new SFX 0.5.

I am really looking forward to the allison and Pratt&Whitney sounds. I like to fly the P47 and P38 and tried to move the Allison and Pratt&whitney sounds into the new SFX folders but they do not work. I read that the SFS file is not compatible for this.

So I will wait for your next versions and hope that the Allison and Pratt&Whitney sounds will come soon.
