Blood in the Cockpit
#16

Found the path to the blood TGA: 3do\Plane\TEXTURES\Gore.tga

Smile

You might not need to use this though. A gifted cockpit skinner could add a little blood to the damage textures when they reskin a cockpit. You cop a hit in the cockpit, the canopy shows the bullet hole texture and busted instruments tga's. These have bits of blood on them etc.

Weird. In that folder I have 7 tga files: pilot1-7.tga.
No gore.tga

bigbossmalone, there is a "highgore" setting in game????? Am I missing something? I use the conf.ini change so no problem with it here, but still, there is a switch in game?

If you have one of the readily available IL2 utilities out there then that setting is ticked on or off.. IL2 stab has it I believe.. but its not a 'switch' in game.. It's altered via conf ini..

I have it in conf.ini: no blood.
When my pilot is wounded, the whole screen is red filtered, then more red is added when he's wounded some more, and when he dies the screen goes black. But not a single drop of blood is shown.

Blood is only visible from externals. It's more for seeing the blood on the plane of your victim or in tracks, etc.

Ah. Ok. I don't use external views much, maybe the blood is there after all. Dead bodies surely are, I noticed that.

it must be set like this in the conf.ini:

Quote:[game]
Arcade=0
HighGore=1
mapPadX=0.68066406
mapPadY=-0.05078125
viewSet=49
Intro=0
NoSubTitles=1
NoChatter=0
NoHudLog=0
NoLensFlare=0
iconTypes=0
eventlog=eventlog.lst
eventlogkeep=0
ClearCache=0
3dgunners=1

yes, it seems as if the ingame highgore setting doesn't actually work, and by all accounts has NEVER worked. it only works by changing the setting in the conf.ini to HighGore=1.
AFAIK, it has always been this way... :?:
