[Download] Altered Campaigns, using Modded Planes
#16

I just finished work on altering the original to modded. Looks like I wasted my time...

I would have appreciated something of a message you were doing this. Confusedhock: You may by now have found out how time consuming mission building is.

Haha. Yes, indeed. I did not post it on Mission4Today, just here in AAA forums.

1.JaVA_Sjonnie, will you offer your version here or at M4T?

I am sure many would prefer an update from the original campaign maker.

Either way you decide, thanks for the original.

First of all, you're welcome Big Grin , second: the new version is in the making, including an extensive re- work of the MTO missions, using the beautiful Volperossa MTO map. 8)

At the moment I am unsure about the right place to publish, however either here or at M4T will do if u ask me. By the time I'm done I'll let u know Smile

You can anticipate the modded version by downloading this map:

Okay I have done 9 new missions using the MTO map. Several ppl testing as we speak.
Next is a series of new missions using the BoB map. 8)

Please appreciate this is a lot of work and yes it takes time (like a week or two, lol).
I hoped to have this ready in time for christmas, unfortunately I've been in bed with a flu...Sad

Most of the new missions are ready. I am now working on a set of missions on Canon's superb Channel map, for a set of BoF and BoB missions, the BoB ones mostly for Erprobungsgruppe 210.

In anticipation of the modded campaign you could:
- download the original campaign & skins here:
http://www.mission4today.com/index.php? ... ls&id=1091
because of the huge load of skins involved I decided to make a modpack to be installed over the original.

Download Canon's BoB map:

I will upload the modded missions, campaign.ini and additional skins to this forum.
I expect to have it ready a week + 1 day from today 8)

Well, sorry to say but I am behind schedule. I still need to do some more testing and after that, construct the package which includes scanning all missions for new skin names and sifting through the .properties files in order to find out which ones to use. The mod appends _ru to the .properties file but the original game files dont have that. So now I need to find out which of the 2 (I now have 2 .properties files for each mission) to use.
I guess I underestimated the amount of hours needed. I have a full time job and a family and even so, I spent over 20 hours but it's simply not done yet. I guess one more week will do.

What I can promise is more immersion than in previous versions! Confusedhock:
I found a nice way to do "sitzbereitschaft" on a french airbase including starting up the plane inside a hanger 8) even though its in the middle of an existing airfield.

Missions are ready!! Big Grin

Now, it needs testing..... I would hate to see things go wrong with sooo many changes in the campaign.

What it takes to test this? Well, I put a mere 24 new missions in a package with a special .ini to test only the new missions. Which means, flying them and reporting bugs by PM.
For those that are interested, I'll make you a personal pack 8) plus obviously a sneak preview of the whole thing. Who's prepared to help? Big Grin I'd really appreciate that!

I've edited my original post to this thread regarding Java's current remake of his excellent campaign Smile. Just a simple note that I won't be doing any such remake myself.

Hello,

I really enjoyed your original 110 campaign and we sent some pm's back and forth about it over on the ubi forum. I would be happy to help you test the new missions if you still need it.

Thanks,

Well, with several testers busy testing the 24 new missions, I put together the new skin pack for the modded campaign.
It holds 135 skins in all. This is the tally when it's done:
50 missions, 135 skins, 8 videos (including a new intro) and 4 subtypes used. (C4, C4/B, G2, G4).

Hope to finally upload the whole thing in a couple of days.... 8)

Fortunately, installation has become simple due to the fact that the Unified installer 1.1 automatically contains the Canon Channel map. So, to play the campaign, all you need is 4.09b1m modded using the AAA UI 1.1
