Please , to alls modders ............

fly_zo,

Thanks for the link. Sure wish it was around when I first started using mods. I would not have thought to look in Announcements for a post on mods file structures. I probably did read it, but never registered because I wasn't looking for that information at the time. I'm very good with computers and downloading and executing the mods took a couple of tries as stuff gets updated. I kind figured out on my own what you explained by searching through the threads. So everyone, yes all the information you need is here, you just have to look for it. Quickest way is the search button at the top of the page under the header. I can understand some of the oldtimer's frustration with the questions. At work there are times I want to scream at people "If you had just read your cars owner's manual, you would not be wasting both your time and money for such a small thing". But, I don't, I politely explain everthing to them, print out the owner's manual page and hand it to them and move on to the next customer with the same question, and usually don't charge them depending upon their attitude. So yes, a little research goes a long way. Off rant. Smile

Just a suggestion, how about making your explaination a sticky in the IL2 Mods Downloads v4.08 and IL2 Technical Help sections? It does explain a lot. If one has even a rudimentary understanding of computers I think this will help with a lot of the questions about where does it go and what does it do.

Take care,

I've moved FZ's explanation to that section, and yes, you're right - it is a slightly more obvious place to look there.

Link posts updated.

... well, at the time it seams like right place ( announcements section ) and anyhow i'm trying to stay away from organizing forum sections which has its own moderators ( colleague courtesy ) . I figured if post was useful it will become sticky .... and it did . Thanks Magpie Big Grin
