If you mean cutting the windows out as in: So you can see the interior then don't worry cause that will be all done with texturing. I am guessing you don't know this but in il2, lets say the ki-43, it isn't just 1 airplane its actualy like 46 copys of it like the level of detail ( LOD ), Damage Scale, Shadow Map uhm Caps etc etc so this wil be like the L0_D0 version of it ( The fully detailed one without damage ) once I finished this one then ill start working on the damaged airplane and the caps wich are like the fuselage and thing that stick out when u got a wing cut off. and for the polycount ... well lets say you have 4 Damage scales and they are all L0 then its like 7k polys x4 and then u have like LOD 2 wich are maby like 5000 polys. What I am trying to say Hunder is that in the end 1 airplane is actualy like 40 -+ airplanes and the polygon count will be like 50.000+. but now ill just try to make the L0_D0 look good and then ill think about the fuselage etc. Also this is the polygon count, as far as I know il2 engine doesn't support that ? and automaticly makes it traingles wich in this cause u can multiply the polygons by 2 and then you have the real number.
