We played it in coop with two squadmates and had great fun. We first had some kind of trouble with the Mustangs, 1 of us did explode midair, i brought my crippled plane back but firemen were late and my plane burnt on the runway after i bailed out, and last of 3 belly landed at high speed, again plane exploded after he left it.

Then we decimated a whole squadron of B-25 (a last was seen trying to cross the alps on one engined, she barely cleared the first peaks and it's doubtful she reached italy), and another P-47 squadron.

This campaign is a real pleasure, and the sights wonderful, thanks again !

rollnloop Wrote:Took some lead though (despite attacking only rear section/stragglers and firing from far), it's happy the engines were untouched, because if any of them takes fire chances to get home by air are very slim.

...best way is frontal attack with cannons Smile.....slim chance of taking lead Wink....

True, but quite hard to setup for me yet (always end with some deflection shooting by 10/15 degrees).

I have changed my gun convergence to 400m now, so i shoot from far, and take much less lead, while still being quite efficient with those elephant guns (i even shoot only lower or upper cannons at a time, to optimize firetime). A squadmate ended the campaign with 53 victories, i'm on Apr 27th with only 21 so i won't make as good as him ( trying to survive first), but my results have quite improved with time.

BTW.... those runways craters are nasty, you wicked mission writer

are they? well, ask Oberst Steinhoff, he could tell you everything about it.
it is not half as naty as it my have been in real life. Thanks for noticing.

as for a gun attack with a 262 on a 4-Mot or a Marauder, a headon is not really desired with the high speed. if you can pull it off, well done, but most of the time they came in from the rear, high right or left, went into a dive and below the flightlevel of the bomber, pick up speed, pull up and go for it from a lower side angle to to wingroots, engines or/and fuselage. This is what i read about it and diving from a side offset is the best way that works for me.
