Don't you worry, it will be released as soon as it gets finished. As a stand-alone and in a UI update, if the higher ranks decide so.

Some production screens I just found, so you guys get an idea of the change. Due to the nature of the original 109 mesh I kept it polywise in the same category. There would have been little point in a high poly bulge that still won't fit perfectly.
The one on the left is the old one, btw

Are you taking a closer look to the MG131 fitted 109s right after completion? I'm doubting the late war 109 cowling is as clumsy as modelled in default 1946. You could render the whole bunch of 109 to
