Well if Oleg is smart he would fully endorse the modder community. At least that part of it which does mods up to a certain level of standard (which most do).

Another 1946-like collection which would support community created mods (and include best of them) could boost the market profile of the game and stretch it a bit more, enough to bridge the time to (seems like never arriving) BoB.

It never hurts to make a bit more money.
