Final version, added some wearing to the inner leading edge and prop blades, changed the gray/blue slightly and altered the exhaust stub colouring a tad

Works a treat over water

Yup, pretty dirty bird, but the photo's are dark B&W so hard to tell extent (personal thing of mine, I like dirty schemes)

I think I've well and truly been beaten... I'll finish mine anyway, though Tongue

Hmm might be easier for the Vc (non-trop) to take the IXc model and create a new FM, and for a trop Vb, take the seafire, get rid of the arrestor hook and make a new FM.

I was refering to the Extra Dark Sea Grey and Dark Slate Grey paint scheme, not the weathering...

Ahhhh,

Again, yes.
Discriptions state the medium sea grey was overpainted with a darker blue grey used in the theatre (no set colour as it was not 'official' RAF colouring)
The green is the standard RAF dark green, however the blue/grey gives it a more dark slate grey appearance

I have several photo's that show the aircraft to be very nearly one solid colour as the blue and green are so closely matched.
Also the 'H' on the port side and 'PP' on the starboard are meant to be larger than the forward letters, dunno why but they are shown so in the pics!

Rossman, finish mate, shame to waste all that time and effort

Yeah, I plan to. Might work some more on her tomorrow, I think I'll add some weathering of my own as the template I've got is rather lacking in that department.

I think I've rescaled and repositioned the letter code on this skin more times than I've done so on all my other Spits combined

You're the expert, so what ever you think will work. It's fine with me.

The problem is the filter, none of the Spits coming with PF (Vc - VIII - Seafire) have the early air intake of Channel Spits Vb's

Maybe I'm missing something (not an unusual occurrence), I was thinking that to convert a Vb to the Vc (non trop) the only visual changes would be the windshield and the cannon stubs on the wings? It seems like the FM between the two would be very similar.

The conversion 3D Vb -> Vc (non trop) should be easy to do... the conversion from Seafire -> Vb Trop wouldn't be difficult too. But if you are an accuracy maniac then cannon barrels would be wrong.
Also, default Vc trops share the same FM with ETO Spits, which is painfully wrong IMO...

I wouldn't say I'm an accuracy maniac, however I've noticed that every little micro variant of the Bf109 is being done (great stuff BTW) and maybe someone would be interested in adding to the Spit variants.
