I-400 carrier submarine
#16

Then we must go further in this naval/floating confrontation:

- HMS M2 + Parnall-Peto-N181

- Surcouf + Besson MB.411

For sure this will be the trick!

Here-s the pictures of this pieces (sorry, I have no idea how to post it here... The acrobatica like: [Image: image_url] is over my comp level...)

The floatplanes didn`t land alongside, when their misson is done they usually ditch in the sea.

there is a derrick on the forward deck so they had the ability to recover but the missions were intended to be one way

Is That So? I read an article about the Seiran and yes some of them where going to fly kamikaze missions but not all, plus the fact of having a "Ghost" squadron of planes which is able to appear and dissapear as long as it has Subs to be carried in its an amazing strategic advantage. Im sure they where able to bring them back home into the submarines.

Cheers!

Well, regardless of how the actual missions were flown, the original designer's intent was for them to recover on their floats along side the sub and be hoisted back aboard.

Fireball, when asked about making a catapult for a merchant ship for the Hurricane, replied that what would have to happen is, a modeler would need to make a "mini carrier deck" in which the catapult rail would be placed, then it would be possible for him to make it work with his carrier takeoff mod. I would guess that then a mission builder would place a single plane on the map with the ship (this sub or a merchant ship) and select take off and set the ship as the target. When the mission starts, you would find yourself sitting on the catapult rail ready to go, and launch by releasing your chocks. Sounds simple eh?

It would be real cool to have this beast in the game, but a helluva lot of work too.

There were also other plane carrying subs, such as this one, that boasted twin 203mm guns in a turret too:

But we would first need an Aichi M6A Seiran to fly missons from it.

the Seiran can wait, what would you people rather have, an under water carrier, or a small plane, and if it is made i mean we can tempararely make the Rufe's wings fold until the Sieran is made.

I just saw a documentary on her and here sister ships, was quite an amazing peice of technology for its time, and it is basicaly the forerunner of the 1960's nuke launching subs, as the tech was taken from them so the US could have an "advantage" over the soviets during the cold war.

Mmm.. if there is no 'no' button, then there is absolutely no poll to be had is there.. I like it, would be a good addition to the game and something diffent if you are launching from that thing, plus the recovery phase at mission end. Not sure how easy it would be to code all that though, let alone the modelling required.

Maybe it would, but is it likely that anyone will? It would require some pretty drastic reworking of the AI routines to make it act like anything other than a surface ship with a catapult, and as far as I'm aware, they haven't been done yet.

There is nothing wrong with pushing at the limits of what can be done, but I think this would be one heck of a project, for very little real benefit. How long do you expect the floatplanes to last in combat?

the only reason theres no No button is because in a world where people will elect GW BUSH, there is no need for a no button

"Should we invade iraq for oil? YES!"
"Should we reject free health care in the us? YES!"

and that my homies, is why the word no is obsolete.... wait... he isnt president anymore.....

1.good
2. how can i add a no button?
