High level bombing class. New Manual released.
#31

I want to thank you all for joining us. It has been awhile since we have had that many bombers to fly with us. We have been trying to get people intrested for years now and i think we are finily started to increase our numbers. I learned how to do high level bombing years and years ago with A-10. He is the master at bombing and for years me and him have made a great team. We are just so happy to have people take intrest in it. trying to find people that are intrested in doing what we do is not a easy task. i mean after all it is not the most exciting type of flying on IL-2 but when you get 10 bombers in formation and make it to target and drop the bombs it just makes a badass feeling for me and A-10.

A little info on just exactly what type of bombing we do: As stated before we do high level bombing. Our bombing altitude is 25,000 feet. Our main bomber is the B-17 or B-24. We usualy fly in AAA server and we bomb there spawn points on the runway. We usualy make 4 passes over target. All of our drops are done by manual releases. This is why we can make several passes over target if we want to. We can hit just inches away from our target about 95% of the time and the target usualy just explodes in flames when the bombs explode. we have gotten over 800 points before in a single mission.

I also want to give a huge thanks out to the 334th members they have been our dedicated escort now for a few months and have been doing a awsome job at it. thanks to them about 75%-85% of the time our bombers are able to make it home on a successful mission.

I also made a video awhile back covering everything we do and shows you just how accurate the bombsight table can be. I want to update the video later on and do a better job of it in version 2. Anyways here is the link to my current video.

http://files.filefront.com/level+bombin ... einfo.html

and lastly i am finishing up a manual covering everything about high level bombing Key commands, how to use the bombsight table for the B-17,B-25,B-24,He-11, and JU-88. Gunnery tips, flying formation tips, what instruments you need to be looking at and more. I expect to be done with it soon.

if u cant make the time that has been made we do training missions for just this kind of thing, best thing to do is to become a member of our sqaud and u can learn all about this alt bombing and other types of attack. its all part of our training in missionoperationsgroup.

the best way to learn all this is to join our group and we will fully train u in all aspects in all aircraft. check out our site at www.missionoperationsgroup.net

we have our own teamspeak and server + all stats are recorded with fbd. if your unsure if u want to join and just check us out u can use the link at our website to get into our t/s.

we do training missions for games against other groups and lett me tell u its the most intense stuff ive done in this game when your group and the enemy group are working toghether.

any way happy flying all ~S~ MOG Marty

I have been flying the bomb runs with these guys for a few weeks. They do know what they are doing. As an experienced sim pilot for 8 years now I have not had much time in multi engine aircraft, but I have come a long way in just those few weeks. Sure there is a lot of rough language on the TS. But if we are flying a WWII sim; then what do you think actual combat operations entailed? Proper decorum and grammar!? !*&%*#@% that!

This whole mod thing has breathed a new life into an otherwise dying sim. And nowhere that I know is anyone flying the heavies in formation. If the fellas want to speak openly then so what? I am enjoying the flight up to 25,000 feet, an otherwise boring event. Particularly if I was alone!

I'll be online on Sunday night. All four throttles to the wall.

Is it Sunday night ?

Thought I read its Saturday night.

I get days mixed up that start with "S".

If Sunday, I'll be there.

Still the same TS ?

Sorry for my confusion

I had another good night yesterday thank you HVY guys very much. I understand the importance of trimming a whole lot more now. The only disappointing thing was the turnout hopefully there will be more next time. Im still in awe that I got the aircraft on the ground without it causing a fiery wreck.

Hi Guy's

Glad to have found this thread ... Squad I'm involved with has a history flying B-17's with CFS1 (good ol days  ) & once discovering that possibily with IL2-46 plus all the new maps etc coming out have since made the transition over.

Still have a bit to learn as a Squad with what IL2-46 has to offer but it's an enjoyable learning process.

Just letting you know that it's good to find some other Heavy Bomber aficionados out there ... &, speaking for myself at this point, will, once having figured the time zone differences, come looking for a gap in the formation to slide into

Cheers,
Tiger

I was busy as well this weekend...

I've got a map ready for us to use, and it will be fine for saturday.

Now, I understand that Iron complained about lag from last time, so I've prefetched the map and spawnlag should now be mostly eliminated. Any further complaints will be met with:

1. Get a new computer
or
2. Get more bandwidth (I'm on 100mbit internet!)

Time to tell us about saturday night's events A10? I wasn't there but would like to know what happened...

Was mostly a failure, 2 people showed up. But we did show a guy how to take off and land and he didn't die or wreck his aircraft so I suppose we came out on top. Anyways I agree if Iron continues to complain he can just get airbourne quicker and we can meet him in the air because he's only complaining of the runways lagging up his computer. It's not like he needs the extra training anyways he's my most successful student........
