So it's going to be very difficult to produce nice skins for some of these aircraft.

Hmm - that's quite a limitation on their use. Presumably, unless a single colour is used for nearly all parts of the donor models the skin will never look right. It will not be possible to properly align camouflage patterns. Damn.

probably not as difficult as one might think though.... For the most part, the Lanc is basicly one solid colour - bar her upper surfaces. Panel lines - well with the aid of PF - shouldnt be too difficult to add...

Using a tool such as Panel Finder - it could be rather simple (in a round about way) to pull it off...

As for FM/Slot: why not do it so if you select PE-8 under RAF, the Lancaster shows up, when any other nation - the Pe-8 shows...

FM matching for her will be hard, but sticking it to the basic model fm of the '8 would perhaps be the best thing for the moment...

Such a shame we don't have the proper Lanc in the game.. I still find it weird we are prepared to accept this with it's totaly wrong FM and cobbled together pieces, yet we can't utilise la Rones excellent damage model mod... Still, we have what we have. :?

If its 'close enough' its 'good enough'. Looking at it another way, I imagine that there are more than a few FM's already in the game, officially at that, not quite close to true specs, in some regards at least.

Yet we all accepted them as they were, infact we even paid to have them like that...

Personally I cannot wait for this machine; night time bombing raids on Berlin etc - brilliant

As a side thought - to back up the use of the Pe-8's WL/DM/FM, the use of the big 5000 kg bomb - could simulate a Grand Slam (if it is only half the weight )







Still... this would have been absolutly fantastic as a stock aircraft, and really should have been included - particularly over that flaming Lerche

It's just as easy to put one of the available excellent RAF bomber scheme skins on the Liberator and fly that.. You still have the wrong aircraft and cockpit and FM, but you can still 'believe' you are bombing Berlin in your Lanc... But it is annoying when you look at all the crap 'what ifs' that Oleg and crew have spent so much time on, and left out truly iconic aircraft that have a wealth of information at hand to make a detailed and believable flyable...

Yes - it is very frustrating that the manufacture did not do this from the get go. But there are a lot they left out.

I am more than happy to make a compromise on this, with a frankenstein aircraft. I was with CFS from her start - thru to her unfortunate demise; and loved and enjoyed the addon aircraft. Yes 9/10 the FM's werent anywhere near accurate, take the Mk1 Hurricane that could shoot down time after time P-51's etc etc.

So yes - if it looks the part, I would be happy - even happier if it's performance was vaguely like the real thing, or near enough.

Again; as I suggested earlier, to Mr Ranwers; he should make his own varient of this wonderful machine - thus making up for any... inaccuracies, and artistic license.

That would justify the creation of this rather nicely I think

I dont think you'd find one person on this site that didnt want all these things that are available on this site right from the get go. People here are fixing that - and in the mean time till we have the ability to add a perfect representation of a Avro Lancaster, I will be happy with Ranwers finest efforts.

I have the "Lancaster" hack for the Liberator. - infact 9/10 I use that on her. But its still not quite... enough for me

But it has.....Brilliant as it is its just the U2VS with bits and peices. The engine is from the Fw189 I think?
