A mad dog about to chew some ones balls off by the looks of it!

I'm in two minds about this. While I agree that the view is modelled incorrectly I think raising the gunsight is not the answer. Without finding a way to model refraction the next best solution is 6dof. However, not everyone has trackir let alone the 6dof expansion so this doesn't suit everyone.
Unless the real gunsight could be raised I don't think such a mod is the way to go. It's not that I would personally consider this a cheat in any way, I just think it's important to stick to historical accuracy.
* I've tried the 6dof mod and while it's more immersive I find it more of a hindrance where shooting is concerned. Admittedly, I need to fine tune my profile to get better results but in the mean time I've disabled it. What I was wondering is whether anyone has found the mouse version of the 6dof mod to be any use? I haven't tried it but I'm guessing that one could raise or lower the view using the mouse wheel or some other input?

So if the modified gunsight is aiming at the wrong spot what is the point of moving it?
