I am getting a load.ini error on the Kursk and gulf of finland map. Everything else works fine. I assume this from a mod conflict. Any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this? the maps that work look great.

Good question Bobbo. The problem is you don't have the mods for some the clouds called for on the retexured maps and need to edit the load ini file.

Istvan - have you taken the revised map_h out of the Kursk map?

I've made some campaigns around your original revised map_h, and now they're going to have smoke objects floating in the air....

I'm not sure, maybe. Last update was 10 months ago so youre asking about events more than one year ago and I deleted previous versions of this mod, only got the latest.

Any chance of putting that map_h back in? I've still got a copy of it if you need it - I think it's LAL_Rone's.

My mistake: I probably included something which I did not check propherly and later removed it and forgot to add it to the change log (are you sure that it was in tha pack and not in another mod install?)

Your mistake: Didnt update the pack in ~1,5 years

Possible fix: since HSFX includes this mod I do not plan to change a lot in the future... height changes would fix your campaigns but would cause problems in others so its best to update the campaigns and not the mod imho.
Changing terrain heights is a bad idea anyways, I only did it once in the Balaton map in a limited way outside the villages/towns/airfields where I assumed that wont affect many things.

Sorry for the inconvinience!

Well, the map_h was in your original version 2.7 (before you moved it to your own site) - I know this because I checked it prior to advising people to download your map pack. If you check your latest version you'll see that you also altered the height map for Prokhorovka - this is still in the package. The changes you made to the map_T's are still there for both maps. I didn't update the pack because I didn't see any changes in the version number.

I have to say this has pretty much confirmed in my mind to stop doing modded campaigns - I've been stung quite a few times now by changes happening to maps etc. subsequent to releasing them. There's just no point doing long-term jobs like campaigns in a realm where everything is so changeable.

It's going to be a pretty tedious job going through the .mis files and reducing the smoke heights. I'll probably have to get people to download the map_h seperately.

Actually Istvan, I'm wondering if you could create a seperate version of the Kursk map (called e.g. "vp_Kursk") that includes this map_h?

It would suit me, as then I can change the .mis file quickly, and it will mean that players will have to use this version. It will also suit you, as it doesn't affect your default map pack....

what lines to add to the all.ini? (for the estern map-pack)

none needed, since it upgrades the default maps in the sfs files - just put it into your mods folder

if my default map upgrade pack is installed you'll need to load this "estern map-pack" first, or better deactivate the my folders with a '-' sign in front of its name

cheers

Hi everybody,

I'm afraid I'm a bit of a Noob to IL 1946 modding, however, I am trying to learn quickly!

But I have been trying to download this file through the links on here and VPs website for the last few days, and each time it tells me that the file is unavailable.

I was wondering if there was any alternative links to download it through?

Many thanks in advance,
Chris
