1. make sure that BOE (battle over europe) is installed

2. install soundmod and the listed planes (look into readme)

3. install the campaign files - doubleklick the "cannel front moded 1.0. exe and browse to your IL2 Sturmovik folder when the self installer is aking you (same for the skinpacks)

4. start the file "install dgen 4.0.8.6.exe" which is part of the file pack

5. Start Il2 and chosse "channel front campaign" in the carrier rooster

Hello Boelcke

I hate to report a problem on such an awesome piece of work, but there it is.
I perfomed the installation as required in the read-me; I have the BOE add-on, the only thing that was not installed is Jumo's Skinpack (connection problem).
I choose a RAF career and performed 9 missions without problem: but at the 10th, I had a "No MAP in mission file" error. Any idea? Sad
Anyway, thank again for your campaign!

Edit: Here is the campaign log if that can help you. That's the last mission (escort bombers to Trouville) which is causing the bug

DATE: 1 August 1941
PLANE: Spitfire VB
MISSION: Free Hunt

OK Boelcke,
Another mystery in the field of computer programming!!
I'll start another RAF campaign and keep you posted if another bug happens.
I also began a Luftwaffe campaign, 4 missions so far and no problem (except being shot down three times in a row!)
I'll be away from home for two weeks, so my playing time will be affected; if any, expect news in three week's time.
Thanks again and keep up the good work

I already have a complete install with UU1.1.1 with some added on maps and campaigns and Enjoyr's latest no add ons patch. I do have The BOE cd and Enjoyr's latest BOE patch. So the question is can I load the BOE cd and Enjoyr's BOE patch on my current setup and your campaing without messing things up, What I had planned on was doing a fresh install on another partition in my hard drive, just for IL2 BOE and BOE add ons and MODED campaigns.

Thank for your great work.

channel front 2.02 has not been installed because of the following reason:

Cannot create the follfwing file:
D:\*********\campaignsDe?$$A

You will have to run this utility again to completely install Channel front 2.02

******************************************************************
that is what installer say, both 1.0 and 2.02.

Taxman,

you can install BOE over your exisitng IL2 installation, it only concerns DGEN files and some skins.

The only thing you should do before this, is to make a backup of your existing dgen.exe in IL2 folder, cause BOE is installing an ancient version of this important file. After installation BOE copy the backup dgen.exe into IL2 folder oder use the one which comes with my campaign files. To play my campaigns, you don

Some time ago a similar problem has been described at another forum. It seems some none english Windows versions can't handle the special characters correctly that we are using for some campaign names. Especially asian Windows versions are affected.
I don't know how this problem can be solved. Maybe there is some kind of language patch for your Windows version?

Idea ah yes the region code of windows, that must be the problem with the characters - but i don

It seems the self installer doesn't work when an unknown special character is used in one of the file names. Some people had the same problem with the enjoyr patch.
I am not sure if it will solve the problem, but instead of a self installer you could try to upload the campaign files in zip format. Maybe this will work and people that have problems with some file names can rename them manually.
