FW190 Gunsight
#91

Trooper117 Wrote:Ok.. I've installed this and although the front view is pretty good now, there are several 190 variants that the rear view is now totally messed up!! I've had to uninstall it, it was really bad!

Conflict is caused by mod that alters german gunsight reticles. Try delete all files in subfolders ..\3do\Cockpit\FW-190A-8 (-A9, -D9, -D9Late) and leave only these :

Bf109F2ReticleGlow.tga
Bf109F2ReticleHighlight.tga
Reticle.mat
ReviReticle.tga

then instal "no bar mod"
Worked for me, but what were doing those deleted files ...?

I think it's the mod that alters the 190 canopy hoods that causes the problem. It places a hier.him file into the relevant folders - and so does the 'bar' mod. However, you no longer need the flat canopy mod, because the 190 bar mod seems to replace all the blown canopies with flat ones anyway - at least on my install.

Edit: this is a great piece of work. The 190 is now a complete joy to fly and shoot with. The mod works fine with the Revi reticle mod, but not with the separate 190 canopy mod. Just empty the relevant folders of all files except the ones dFrog mentions above.

Edit2: It looks like someone has rebuilt the 190 fuselage gun cowls, so that even with 6DOF you now see a complete cowl in front of you from all angles - superb!

Hello

Thanks you for this great mod Tongue

Just au question :
Is it possible to make it compatible with the gyro Gunsight for the D9 late (see the post "Askania EZ 42 Gyro Gunsight FW190D9 (1945) *UPDATED*" on the mod download section ?

It would be totaly perfect then

Any chance to make those 2 mods (Fw no-bar and Fw canopy) working together without this bug?

I followed dFrog's instructions and both mods work together fine.

Ah right, I thought to would uninstall the FW canopy mod. But we loose 50% of the mod:

The rear armor in the cockpit. I think with canopy mod we had the rear armor of Fw A4 A5 A6. Default rear armor of A8 and A9 are a little bit different.
I'm quite sure, i cant confirm it.

I haven't got that mod installed, so it isn't that..

Great Mod! Hope the author of the flat canopy mod can update his mod to make it compatible to this mod.

well..

we've posted our work to vwings.net just for a little more complex betatest, so there was "pure" version of mod, for "pure" versions of Focke-Wulfs.

Here are files, which can (hopefully Smile) fix problem on "flat canopy mod" (swimming rear armour). I hope, that there will be no errors. Files for Fw 190 A-8/9, Fw 190 D-9/+late and Fw 190 F-8.

"Holes" in front of cocpit was filled as well as holes in wing's root.

Just remove the FW-190(Late) folder from the No-Bar MOD, then you can have the Askania sight (w/bar) and no bars on the rest of the FWs.

Any chance of the Ta152H and C having their bars removed?

Maybe in future. Both Ta 152 had a little "crippled" cockpits (highered gunsights) for better view. Crazy present by Oleg. We should fix this first and after that start work on filling of holes and finally "cover" bar. Ta 152 was not planned yet.
