Excellent work Per ! Really coming along very nicely, and you did the Dewoitine's classic lines justice. Makes me wish I could help you out. I'm sure a project like this one will interest many a talented modder to lend you a hand.

You see the antenna under the belly there? When gears come down it retracts up and aligns with the belly. Lovely pic btw! Big Grin

When it comes to Pascals work with the pit I will not disclose anything since I do not know if he likes the idea of me putting out pics of his work. Besides, he just recently started. Smile

Excellent news ! I'm really impressed and pleased by how fast and steady your progress is. The D-520 is so badly missed by us French pilots.
That 'complete noob effort' is going to turn into a masterpiece Wink

By the way, what's the polygon count on this beauty (and compared to the regular non-modded Il-2 planes)?

On the pic you see above the polycount is 6796. It will raise, but not to bad I think.

About the gear - most of the time it would be retreacted into the wing and won't be rendered (I think) so there's no need to simplify it (and I speak as an owner of a low-class PC). Looks great, nice to see that you've modeled the tires tilted inwards, as they were on the real thing! Man, I really can't wait to skin this plane - I've already gathered half a dozen profiles.

I am looking forward to taking on 109's in this when it is released.....the 406 and 410 are hoplessly outclassed by the 109
