How about correcting the pilot figure?
#31

Try to use the Head1_D0.msh file from the A-20 it fits better.
This file works for most of the pilots, the problem is the other crew members that don't use movable heads. :?
I tryed to add a Head2_D0 file and edited the hier.him file to assign it to the gunner of an SBD-3 and ended up with a two headed monster with one head emerging from the other...
I remember that in my first attempts to edit the SBD-3 crew, somehow I had ended up with the gunner decapitated but I can't remember how... :?
If I could edit the hier.him parametres I could attach the mask to the gunner properly...

Hi guys,
ranwers is spot on the pilots.
I can make you a new apropriate skin, more up to my today standars.
Great idea for pilot with goggles in open cockpits, unfortunatelly this head has the hated bulge on top.
Why do you need underpainted goggles if your pilot already is wearing the proper ones?
My idea in the first place was to change the default pilot skins by editing the pilot .mat files, thus achieving greater variety of default skins.
for example: In my own game I have assigned different skins as defaults for fighters and bombers, (differnt pilots- gunners also), in the LW and even more, different ones for early and later War, or skin with leather coat and special open cockpit helmet as default for the for the I16 and so on 8)

As for correcting the helmets we can do it safely for the pilots but not for other crew members without grafical glitches, unfortunatelly. Cry

I'm in the process of making the pilot mod, including corrected helmets,(for the pilots only, not other crew members, unfortunatelly) and more apropriate per plane and era default pilot skins.
It's a huge task though...the planes in 3do are even more than in PaintSchemes file! Confusedhock:
I'm trying to assign different skins to multicrewed planes that have only one or two pilot .mat files by default, but more pilots in plane, (for example the He-111 with 5 pilots and only 1 .mat file, thus the crew is like clones of the pilot). :?
I tried by creating seperate .mat files per pilot (ie: Pilot1.mat...Pilot5.mat) assigning the different skins there, with no result. Cry
Any ideas?

PS ranwers I haven't forgotten you, but please wait a little more.

Dear Elephant

You must make that:

in Pilot1.mat in each catalog plane: "TextureName ..\Textures\PilotMe110.tga"

in files.txt : "3do/plane/textures/PilotMe110.tga" and "3do/plane/Bf-110C-4B/Pilot1.mat"

and of course make texture PilotMe110.tga in 3do/plane/textures

WORKING !

PS. Make You mod first, next skin Big Grin

I know it is working and that's what I'm doing so far!
My problem is how to give different skin to to every crew member in multicrewed planes, that by default, have only one or two skin options to pilots (ie Pilot1.mat, Pilot2.mat and more than 2 crewmembers).
Read carefully my post and you'll understand...

Tommorow I'll post some WiP shots to show you how it's getting along...

Too much work in real life and I haven't stolen any time to mod anything since last week.
The progress so far is that I have changed heads and assigned appropriate default skins to LW fighters, bombers ans stuka also corrected heads and assigned new default pilott skins to RAF spitfires and hurricanes( but I think I have to rework a bit the Irvin flying suit). All pilot skins are reworked, featuring new elements like superdetailed oxygen masks.
The I16 series have new pilots with corrected helmets and skinned open cockpit suits
I haven't found the bailing pilots yet but if they are the two guys in the humans/paratroopers folder I'm afraid I won't be agle to give the actual paratroopers their correct, (paratrooper not pilot) skins, that I intended to...
Sorry I said I would post some pics but preffered to play than do anything else in my little spare time....I hope in the weekend although I'll be working tommorow...
