Why does the AI always fly in an echelon?

I think there should be a new formation option in the FMB.

The default formation should be "Vee."

I also think that the game should be modded to support USAAF "box" type formations.

As an alternative, maybe the new "convoy making" technology should be applied to the air and planes be available in the FMB as premade 6-plane box formations.

Options like these should be present:

"3x B-17D"
"6x B-24J"
"18x B-17G"

Am I making sense with my input?
