I wanted to know if the 4.09 patch comes out and it disables your mods will this group of yours try to hack it and create Mods for it? Or will you leave it alone for the people against Mods? This is a very important question for me.

you know prince i listened to your rantings on your teamspeak and i have to say,whats your deal,so yes they added new planes and changed some sounds. But how is that affecting you,theyve clearly stated that they dont do anything to the FM or DM so what im asking you is why do you care so much?

Prince this is not my group - they are all adults & do as they wish - im not sure what will happen but if it stops mods then i personly will stay with 4.08 & i guess some others will too, im even considering 4.05 - but if tools come out for 4.09 then who knows we'll see what happens

Thanks for your reply. No Offence but some of these people on this site want discussion but when I ask a simple question I have people attacking me. I didn't come here to start an argument.
I need to know what you guys planned for your future so I can plan mine. I refuse to continue to run a league where everything is a question mark and I keep poring my time & Money into it. Especially since I was making a deal with someone for 4 new servers for the league. That is now put on hold. Then I have some punk question my motives. Are you kidding me?

Prince i wish i could say that 4.09 is even comming but where is it? i thought it would be here by now - its my guess that if it comming that its possible that theyve seen whats going on here & are trying harder to eliminate any possibilty of being able to mod it. So if it is comming then to answer your question it may well be impossible for us to make mods for it... but then on the other hand it may not be any different at all & it will be only natural that every body wants to mod for the new version & yes me included. I just dont know until the patch either comes out or dosnt come out. Personly i will be happy to mod for thi version & 4.05 & wouldnt be unhappy if there was a version that was locked from modding. i think we are just going to have to wait & see :wink:

If 4.09 comes out you can use its content (planes, maps, skins) instantly by copying the new sfs files (fb_maps15.SFS for example) and others into your IL-2 directory, probably FMB list needs to be edited too but not a big deal. For me the new sound is more important than any content that can come with 4.09, maybe the new maps but as I said imho those can be transfered easily.

It may turn out that 4.09 will run as 4.09 , but any content "extracted" will run as 4.08 with mods.

I noted that Oleg said there was not going to be any extra security patch in 4.09.

None of us will really know until it is released.

Is that correct? I mean, if 4.09 has a new encryption for SFS files will it stop new ones working with the old ones of 4.08 - or is the encryption irrelevant in that context? Hope so...
