Can I 1st say that I hate you all because I said I would never make another public mission or campaign...........so I hate, you, I hate you lol

........but as these great Mods here has brought Il-2: 46 back to life for me, I thought, 'What the hell' :lol:

The 1st one is an updated version of my 'Doodlebug Down' mission, which the last time I looked was the most popular 'Single Mission' download at Flying Legends............ego, ego lol

Anyway, instead of flying the Beau, you get to fly the Mossie FB while Tempest V's are destroying the other V-1 Sites around you, plus you'll get a chance of giving the Lutwaffe a damn good bashing.

I've used instead of the original 'Brit Island' Map the new Normandy Summer one.

I'll try and finish this tonight (I'm hosting on HL tonight), but if I can't I'll finish it tomorrow instead 8)

The one that I'm proud of is a B-24 night mission (You're a Lancaster really) and you have to join the Bomber Stream and then go on to the target to bomb it - you also have 110's trying to shoot you down as well.

I've used my original template I made for my camapaign: Cat's Eye's for this, but I need to take out some of the original smoke/fire effects that I put in there as its making even my machine slow

Just bordom really m8 as it took months to make a Campiagn and that took too much away from 'Real Life - cost me an relationship in the end lol :lol:

Doodlebug Down (Sound Mod Version).

You lead a Flight of 4 Mosquito's to a point East of Ecouche. There you will try and destroy 4 V-1 Sites....at the same time, Flak and 190's will be buzzing you. Watch out for a Squadron of Tempests in the area doing the same job.

You're using the new Normandy (Autumn) Map (so you will need the 'Map Pack' Mod to use this) and you will need a fairly good rig to run this on as you have many objects - Smoke/Fire and otherwise in the area.

A big thanks to cortomaltese for letting me use his idea for the attactions of London inwhich you get:

Buckingham Place.

St.Pauls.

Wembley Stadium.

Westminster.

Big Ben.

Windsor Castle.

noticed the B-17's are parked on top of the A20's at the UK base...

I like the Tower Bridge in London too...

I thought I packed a lot into my missions....but ...well

It is nice to have every plane in the mission as flyable...I'll have to make it into a co-op so that i can easily swap planes

there is a PBN parked in the grass near the airfield... and what appears to be a warship of some kind.....silently gliding through the fields near the airstrip....and firing its guns at something???...noticed it when taking-off in the mossie

with the 'long range smoke and fire mod' I could see the smoke from Caen as I crossed the enemy coast...and during the mission could often see smoke on the horizon from other towns..... great

and the warship in the channel was firing at the 'Doodlebugs' and leaving plenty of flak bursts floating above...with the help of the 'bigger and longer flak burst mod'

I just got a new computer and had no trouble with stutter...but then i don't bother with perfect... just smooth and excellent is enough for me...

I got to the V1 site but lost two of my mossies to flak.... my bombs missed....those ramps are very difficult to break.....lost another plane to an FW ...then shot up a V1 on its ramp which exploded and took us both out..... so haven't flown over Caen fires yet...

Looking at the fires.... maybe the fatter fires and smoke in less numbers would look better than the thin ones.... I'll make a copy of the mission and try tweaking it....going to add my bits of London too with my Hornby trainset

No, seriously though, I glad you like it, apart from the mistake (which I'll correct when I get back home and repost here :wink: ), but it sounds like you've got a way much better rig then I have, but mine is about 3/4 year's old which is why I've used the Fire/Smoke Objects that I have m8 because I was getting stutter a far amount even on 'Excellent' Settings

.........its also the problem with the 'Bomber Stream' Mission that I'm making as you just can't see the Fire/Smoke Objects from 2,000m's let alone 3,000m's which the mission is set as

Hopefully I can buy a new Rig after Xmas though 8)

Hey HS, I flew your Mosquito IV mission and really enjoyed it. The sky busy with aircraft (B17s specially) and the sounds of the Mosquitos taking off (flybys) is just sweet. The second area flak took out my 2nd Mosquito but the rest of us managed to stay in one piece due to low alt flight. Even managed to elude the luft attackers. The flak effects and scenery was really nice. The B 17 were just hammered by flak, lost most of them. That is when the stuttering occurs ,watching the b17s.
I like you, am working on obtaining a new rig.

I'll release an updated version where you have less objects as when I 1st tried it my PC died for folks like us who has dated PC's

Also in the New Year I will make a campaign at somepoint using most of the new Sound Mods Gifts here...........plus at somepoint this week I will finish, 'Bomber Stream' Single Misson if I can get the time :wink:

I've been tweaking the mission...
I removed the parked PBN and the Battleship and Cruiser which started from near the airfield I changed their first waypoints to be in the sea near the island...
Tarted up London a little more with some buildings and added some more AA guns around London...I swapped the 85mm to 76mm and used those....to have a go at the Doodlebugs mostly
25mm AA I changed to 37mm or Bofors for the brits

25mm old type AA (look like Oerlikons to me) do cause a bit of FPS drop ...so i prefer the newer and better looking german 37mm or 20mm which fire a little slower

the mossies sometimes crash into the new hill west of Ecouche...so a new waypoint needs to be added at the hilltop to raise the flight height from 50m to 200m...(I'm presuming that hill wasn't on the original normandy map)

I changed some of the fires and smoke in Caen to version 2 from the original 1 which makes them bigger ........ some of the houses with smoke without fire I changed to smoke 3 which is grey and lower (like a fire which has almost burned out).... and some of the factory chimney smokes I changed to the 3 also....to signify that they were burning different materials

The biggest problem for me is that the rocket ramps are virtually indestructible.....even crashing on them rarely has any effect.......the most effective way is to shoot up the rocket whilst on its ramp.... but that takes you too close and you often go up with it....bombs rarely do anything....or rockets

I am trying to place a train truck type 1 which normally contains explosive beside each ramp to see if that helps.......... but some of the ramps do not show in the FMB on the ground....very strange

I turned off the parachutes for the B-17's too as they are always an FPS killer..... I also thought that the four Bf109's did too good a job on them....so I changed to two flights of two and one flight had only default ammo and both had the wingman as novice
