Last I heard is that the new maps had gone to Oleg for checking,then back to the mod makers for fixing,and then they have to go back to Oleg.
They seem to work a little slower than the guys here! :wink:

Actually with all these mods I consider that I am on at least 6.04 now

Well, the penalty for us, if we're working quickly is either having to produce an uninstaller (Avengers) or a bit of embarrassment (Mig-3 patch). Imagine the hot water people would put Oleg in if it didn't work on even a handful of machines.

As for 4.09, this is what I can glean:
- there will be no further anti-hacker or encryption improvements
- three or four new maps will be included and perhaps a couple of fixes

Don't count on aircraft though. Oleg indicated that aircraft development was ending over a year ago (before the release of '46 in fact).

Which is a shame, because i think the Avia, the Fokker, the CW-21 and one other off the top of my head that i forget were in development or 'in the can' before the Lurch was ill-conceived in 1946..

This is a quote from the Slovak forum:

"LAL_R_One, it all depends on the outcomes of beta testing and fine tuning of the map in next 1-2 weeks. It might be out before Christmas. But please bear in mind that we have only one shot. There will be no fixes, no additional patches. I would rather see the map release delayed right after Christmas than having it unfinished and unpolished 2-3 weeks earlier. Few weeks after 3 years of development don't make any real difference any more in my opinion. The end is very very close however."

Can't argue with the logic there. The Slovak map is unbelievably good. I know it's a sore point with a few people, but I personally hope there is no extra encryption in 4.09 so that the new textures can be used immediately to upgrade some of the old maps. :wink:

I heard long ago that the 4.09 would include one aircraft...one map (slovakia)...and about 300 new objects (obviously the new buildings etc. used in the slovakia map)

This is a shame because new maps is one thing that we DON'T need. The time its taken them to screw with this Slovakia map could have been better applied to giving us missing aircraft (e.g. Spit Mk1, more Ju88 variants etc)
