why does the JU-88 have a gunsight if the pilot does not have any weapons to shoot all i can say right now its just in the way is there anyway to remove it from the VC its just a plain old Pain in the neck to have it in my view as is the JU-88 is a pain to taxi and land with the sight in my face its just a real prob does anyone know how to make a quick fix and remove the gun sight? :!:

There are some playstation games out at the moment that feature WW2 aircraft. Maybe you could switch to those, if you are not concerned about accuracy. :wink:

IMHO, the best way would be to empty *.him file - delete everything except the propeller (without it I would not feel like in real plane). And in cockpit I need only ASI, altimeter, horizon, vario and gunsight. And remove overheating on Bf-109, please - it is not realistic or not equal to Spitfire...

EDIT: The only thing which I agree with is correcting of poor view from the Fw-190 cockpit. If someone removed that damned bar, I would thank him. I don't fly Fw, but it really needs to be fixed...

I think there is merit to removing the gunsight if a strong enough case can be made.

Many Ju-88 subvariants didn't have it and there were undoubtedly field mods that removed it (after all they often deleted the gondola). It should just be a matter of proving it.

i talked to a history guy on e-mail he told me that in his aircraft Book there was no sight in the ju88 in front of the pilot!

the shooting was handled by the three gunners in the airplane. the pilot just flew the
plane. I looked in some books I have on the JU88 and could not find a gunsight for the pilot.
