Is there any way to change/add maps to QMB?
#1

OK, so I'm getting tired of just having the same 4 or 5 maps in QMB, and I was wondering- is there any way to change/add maps to the list?

Though this was not announced here (or I did not see it). The AAA user with username FC here and FatCat 99 over there released version 2.0 of his QMB mod which is newer than the version on this site

What is the problem, have you read instructions for installation?

Is there any way to get that file uploaded somewhere else? rapidshare is blocked for me.

says that the file is corrupted when I try to load a mission with another map other than the standard ones. To be honest I am not sure what to do with the gui_rui.changes file.Can you tell me please where this and the TGA files should be exactly? (just in case, to be sure) Thanks anyway.

For using QMB mod you need to have sound mod or any other working mod which I suppose you have .

Than unpack content of Files folder in your Files folder and copy content of filelist.txt into your filelist.txt.

Add content from gui_ru.changes to your gui_ru.properties file which is in your files/i18n folder.

Than read instructions, not every of the new maps have full set of mission so try to chose None as a Target.

TGA pictures are just for information, they are there to show you what to set in QMB if you are not sure what to do after reading instructions.

Typical errors are extracting files in wrong folder and not adding content of filelist.txt in your filelist.txt so it's best to look if it's something of these two.

Thank you,l that really helped and I can use the extra maps now!! This is one of the most useful patches I ever installed in the IL-2.I particularly like the scramble, I hope that soon is going to be available with every map (in the QMB 3.0 I suppose :wink: )

In QMB2.1 some errors are fixed, thanks to Willy who found errors and posted solutions.

If you have 2.0 than all you need to do is this

Quote:This line is missing from the included "filelist" in the QMBPack2.0; Missions/Quick/NewGuineaRedArmor00.mis

And the New Guinea Strike missions were named;
NewGuineaBlueGroundStrike00
NewGuineaRedGroundStrike00

Instead of;
NewGuineaBlueStrike00
NewGuineaRedStrike00

So only thing to do is to put one more line in filelist.txt and rename two missions.

I don't understand problems with rapidshare, it's the only one that always works for me, I have troubles with other services.

I think Rapidshare has problems if you use Firefox with a download manager (downloads never start or never finish). It's either an incompatibility with Firefox itself or the particular manager you use in combination with it.

I can only get Rapidshare links to work by copying the download url into Internet explorer and using that to download instead. It's slow, old, dirty and primitive - but it works. :wink:
