Trees..... harder to destroy
#1

I know that Lal_Rone was working on this as part of his destruction mod...... but I don't think he included it in the version he left behind him..

I know also that it caused problems with the new maps for 4.09 and the objects for them...

But I have been using it OK on the old 4.08 maps and objects without any problems

If you install the destruction mod it gives you new files for static.ini/ships.ini in your files/com/maddox/il2/objects folder ...also some filelist entries

the ships is to alter the hardness of the AA guns on the ships only...and doesn't get affected by the new 4.09 maps

to use the new 4.09 maps and objects...you only need to disable the mod for the static.ini ...by going to it in the filelist and adding a couple of // marks in the front

leave the rest of the mod in place...and you can still get the 'easier to kill AA guns' even with the 4.09 maps

if you are not on the new maps or using their objects...you can re-enable the mod by deleting the two // marks you put there to disable it in the filelist

you can also harden your trees....which normally seem to all disappear at the sight of an explosion

by going to the static.ini and finding the trees (about one quarter of the way down)...then alter their Panzer setting ...from 0.17....to 0.75...(I found this only wipes them out after a big explosion.....and only one group at a time)

way better if someone will fix this "trouble" mod one day and forever.I don't think it will be as much difficult as other mods. 8)

it is not the mod which is the trouble........ every time a patch brings in new objects....as has 4.09bm.... it messes with the objects list

so until the new sfs files are cracked..... we are stuck with it

as i said....the ships.ini part of the mod is unaffected....just the static.ini

if you have the mod fully functional....then you will not get the new 4.09 objects to appear on a map....old or new map

It should be fairly easy to implement LaL R One's changes into 4.09

I'm busy with another project right now but if it isn't done in a few months I will give it a go.

To get static.ini coming with the last patch: add /com/maddox/il2/objects/static.ini to the filelist.txt of the sfs extractor (qtim's). Open with extractor the files.sfs coming with lastpatch. static.ini should be there...
