SHIPS SHELLS AND EXPLOSIONS..
#1

Did anyone of modder can help about where to look into sfs files as to find a way I'm looking for de-crease the BIG studder/lower fps when ships are firing AND or Explosions???Notice: I'm NOT talking about slower rate of fire (This I know how..) May be only to render a bit "light" the visual effect of shell tracers or/and the amount and dimension of big-bowls red-orange-yellow in explosions? Sorry my bad explanation and I'm not as good as modder but if anyone have a suggestion about parameters to change may be great to have a smooth game and playable missions where there is lot of action for medium-low end PC..

Dunno about modding this, but mission builders should array IJN CVs properly to improve FR. IJN CVs operated ~7km apart, with a single guard DD a few hundred yards behind the CV, even with the port side of the flight deck.

Yes, that's 7,000m between ships.

Agreed, I wonder if scaling down the visual tracers/explosion/smoke/dust effects would help with FPS on slower machines...hmm. Nothin' worse that strafing a ground target to have your FPS halved close in.

maybe better option (or simpler to implement) to scale down some of the graphical settings and clear out the windows registry of any unnecessary processes that are going on whilst playing the game. if you are getting stutters then there's too much strain on your system, either from the in-game settings or background processes in windows. know this from experience, had about 60+ processes running and the game played like a slideshow in busy missions, managed to trim it down to around 40, and turn a couple things down in-game, and it ran a lot better. effects = 2 is a major culprit for cutting frames when on ground attack. looks purdy but is a real fps killer, particularly with the view distance mod for smoke n fire.
some mission builders do limit the flak from ships in a bid to make it playable on lower end machines, but there is only so much that cna be done that way before you simply have too little flak around ships.

I've 38 process activated in my machne AMD athlon 64 core +3.800, ATI card X850 XT with Driver Catalyst 7.12, 2 GB Memory DDR 400, Audigity 2Z Soundcard with last drivers, every week I defrag and I run SpyBot + Lavasoft, game is located in a clean partition of disk Still studder and low FPS in actions like I posted.

TO ALL READING FOLKS HERE Please note: THIS IS NOT A TOPIC ABOUT "LOWERING RATE OF FIRE OF SHIPS OR OTHER FMB/ PC TWEAKS But I've called here about modding effects in game as to solve this problems that MANY end-user machine have and as above comment of Neil as well understod about, Thank for the attention. 8)
