Tempest V 11lb
#1

Inlight of the Spitfire XIVs arrival is there any chance of one of you modding chaps to add the Tempest V 11lb to the game ? Lots of performance data exists here and there would be no 3D changes required.

We could also have a later Merlin 25 engined Mosquito VI, again no 3D changes and the data exists here

oooo with the possibility of adding new aircraft on the horizon this would have a lot of backing. also if the loadouts could be done for these added aircraft we could have the 4000lb cookie, rockets on the mossie, one fo the test laodouts for tempest where they double loaded rockets on the rack (sort of over and under arrangement)... ooooo

Remember that the Tempest never carried Rockets during WW2, so maybe we could double them up on the Typhoon mod?

Tempests were tested, cleared and rated to carry eight 60lb rockets on zero length rails.. They carried out many airfield suppression and straffing missions towards the end of the war, pity they never used them.. I've several pictures of Tempest V's with rockets plus some good video footage during trails in WWII... I guess the Typhoons were still doing a successful job in that role though!

The Tempest as it is, is probably the best prop fighter in the game. I can imagine some slaughtering going on if that is included!

Ranwers made some progress getting the rockets rails from the Tempest to attach to the Hurricane wing used on the Typhoon mod - but there was still a way to go (the rockets weren't aligned properly). If it can be done it opens the path to rocket armed Mosquitos and Hurricane IVs.

Typhoons never EVER carried two-tiered rocket rails.
