Hi guys.

Did you already notice that the rudder is never in the real neutral position? (a little on the right for 109).
We can correct it only on planes which have rudder trim, but not the others.

Of course, I prepared a track to show it.
Bf109 K, I used the extremal view that always stay behind the plane, maximum zoom. You'll can see well the difference between neutral position of the game, and real neutral position of the rudder.

Now you see what I ask: A mod that put the rudder on real neutral position.
I really hope someone will can do this work! This kind of mod would make the game more realistic again.

As far as I know, when a plane spawns in Il2 it does so with trim pre-set for take off. This is why the rudder is not in a neutral position. Not all aircraft had trim that could be adjusted from inside the cockpit, some had trim that can only be set at the control surface linkage while the plane was on the ground.

Exactly. When a plane spawns with the rudder not centered, this is realistic as all planes had some amount of "pre-trim" adjusted in and those without rudder trim were pre-trimmed for cruising speed.

It is only partly realistic. Since in IL-2 no trim tabs are modelled, the whole control surface moves instead. This is of course totally unrealistic. There were trim tabs on the 109 that could only be adjusted on the ground, but whole rudder and ailerons were not.
Fortunately BoB will have trim tabs.

Oh yes and the Ta-183 is totally wrong, too. The elevator-looking like thing on its tail is actually the trim surfaces. The plane would have had elevons, the ailerons acting as both ailerons and elevators.

I forgot: On the 109 the whole vertical stab was adjusted up or down when trimming. The other surfaces have on the ground adjustable trim tabs. Just to avoid possible confusion.
