HUD text - Could height be reduced?
#1

Hello friends.
Since I'm starting to play Il2 I was wondering to reduce the size fonts to all info displayed in game like HUD and chat messages. Is there any command to do that or it demands one specific MOD?

Thnx,

Yes you can. Mine is set small.

Unzip this and pop it in your mods folder

Depending on your screen resolution, the appropriate line will need to be changed accordingly.
They are currently set for my own personal preference on a 1680x1050 screen res. You'll need to personalise the files to yur own taste however. Trial and error is the key

Just loaded it and the text is so small on 1680x1050.

Can you use any font style or is it a special font?

Open up the files and you can change the values yourself to get a font size that you prefer. I find you get used to small text very quickly indeed, but it comes as a shock at first after years of jumbo headlines.

Depending on your screen resolution, you will have to change the appropriate line suit suit. Give it a go. A little trial and error, but its not hard.

Hey Bee, thanks for putting this up Smile

However, mine won't work either.. I use a custom res 1440x900. I tried changing the point value for the 1280 line, and adding my own line @ 1440, but no joy. Any ideas? It's supposed to work just in Mods/Fonts? I don't need any more subfolders? Thanks for any help! ~S~

Mod/Font not "fonts".

Try editing the 1152 line in the arial10 file and see if that works perhaps.

I run 1024x768 and the font is small on laoding screen, but in game its normal size.

I'm confused on which file to open, and how to get to the correct line to edit.

Any help most appreciated.

Hi mate. In the Arial10 & Arial10b files, try changing the 1024 14 line to 1024 7 to see if that does the trick. Changing that number up or down should let you adjust the font size to taste. Experimantation is the key!
