This looks more realistic than old damage. +1000 because I like to shoot down 109s

What a start! Looks so much better than the old v1.0 damage that we've had all these years.

At this rate Il2 will overtake BoB!

Great improvement.

I would reduce the width of the larger blast contour, it feels sort of disproportional.

great job canon!!! Smile

I think u r getting in the right direction. the bullet damage on the wings should maybe look more like a cut than a roundish hole, bearing in mind the most probable angle of impact of bullets on the wing surface and fuselage would have been from the rear or front. The bigger damage, caused by cannon and AAA (no, not the forum mates, the flak Wink ), should have a central dented hole and smaller splinter holes, disposed as you would draw a sun, with the direction of the splinter holes radial to the center of the impact. Once again, did I make myself clear? LOL

Cheers!

I can't quite picture what you mean for AAA damage. Got a picture?

Something like this? (obviously with the centre cut out in an alpha channel)

Great work!
I noticed that the damage model does not differentiate between flak and bullet damage though. So one generic type would have to do for all. Some nationality markings get chopped up when the assigned bit of damage tga gets applied over it too. It is particularly noticable on the spine of the aircraft, where it chops the whole top of the fuselage cross off. Looks a bit silly Smile

In the 3do\Cockpit\Bf-109F-2 folder there is a file called ZBulletHoles.tga which is the interior bullet hole effect in the canopy for all early 109's. It's a tiny low res 128x128 tga, but you can jack it up to 1024x1024 with no adverse effects whatsoever  Idea

Nice! that's a huge improvement over the old one!

But again, I'd really like to try doing this, but I can't find the files. Can someone please point me in theright direction? Or do you have to make your own from scratch, and that's why I can't find them?
