In order to make this happen, would we(you) really have to make any changes to the aircraft's Flight Model, or is it merely a change to allow for the functioning of the tailhook? In other words, if somebody ever does figure out how to get a tailhook to function on a plane, it's not like the FM of the aircraft itself is going to be changed such that it's speed or maneuverability will be affected, will it? It's understood that an aircraft's FM & DM are sacrosanct so, when folks state that, in order to get a tailhook to work, "...it's FM has to be altered" isn't really accurate, is it?

I'm just hoping that Hellzone's comments won't close the door on this subject.

I think someone has already added the hook to the Hurricane, it works too. However it won't retract. That's the problem.

From what I remember it retracted fine. Everything works A-OK. The problem was that in order to get it working you had to change the FM/DM files ... which is TABOO. But now that we have new aircraft slots, this should not be a problem.

But you could be right too. Some days I don't get my head screwed on strait ...

Yea, I have the seahurricane and the hook does work, just won't retract visually.
Seems we're so close. Just a little tweak might be enough.

I very much hope it can be done, it's a massive gap in il2 campaigning there is no Sea Hurricane. Got to be right up at the top of the most wanted list I should think.
