I just had my first experience with the sound pack. I downloaded the latest version. it installed flawlessly.

Almost every aircraft has a new engne sound except the Corsair and the Hellcat. Do I need to get different version? If not , is anyone working on making a new engine sound for this engine. It too is very distinct.

I'm brand new here. This was my first post.
I ask a legitimate question and get a reply like this? I won't make that mistake again.

Showtime, I had ver 9.2 and was very happy with it, but when I saw this new ver, SFX, I changed to that. I had the same experience as you. I went back to 9.2 and am very happy with that. I suggest you do the same. A squaddie of mine just installed 9.2 over the SFX and it worked OK for him. I did the whole un-install of the game, re-install and modding routine. Hope this helps.

OH yeah, welcome aboard mate! Big Grin

Hey showtime.. Welcome mate.
Sorry about the rather abrupt start to forum life here.. but you will find that most people are more than eager to help out! Some of the mods need a little tweaking from time time as we all have different systems and different tastes of course.. but there is a willingness to help from all concerned! Big Grin

i had the same experience with the latest version of the sound mod. I too went back to the earlier 9.0 version and added my own version of the 2800 in. There is quite a few sources on the net for good sound files and a program called Goldwave made it possible to adjust the files until I was satisfied that the planes with the 2800 sounded like they should.

Once you get the hang of modifying the sound files to the appropriate form its preety easy to create the sounds you want.

A squad mate was having very sporadic missing engine sounds. We finally realized that he had used the original 409b1m.zip and had missed this step in Jolly's instructions:

"4. Once downloaded install & when asked to overwrite the following files say NO
DONT INSTALL - ' mg_snd_sse.dll '
DONT INSTALL - ' mg_snd.dll ' "

These files need to be the ones dated 9/4/2006.
