MG sounds question..
#1

Does anyone know wich sound samples are for the .303 and .30 Cal machine guns? I have some awsome samples of my own that I would like to try replacing these with. I have already used my own .50 Cal and MK108 cannon files and they sound awsome! Finding these files was easy, they both have MK108 and Browning 50 in the names. Tongue

Any help would be great!

@ vpmedia;

I think he was asking abt samples ,and not the presets,cos samples gives u the actual sound. :roll:

Yes, but if other guns use the same wav (MG_59.wav) you will change other, unexpected guns too

So the propher way to do is to open the prs and assign new wav files. I'm talking from experience because I've kept only 1 or 2 gun sounds from 0.93 Smile

I dont know much abt either samples or presets,but i have noticed that when i download a new gun sound mod (mod that changes existing sounds of the guns) i dont need to mess with prs files,witch does not hold true when u are adding a brand new sounds.
Oh btw i dont think that any other guns use MG_59.wav(correct me if im wrong)

its used in 3 presets: bredasafat77s, vickers and browning303

I think breda is MG_64_25.wav,not sure abt vickers though,and i think presets just give u sound parameters(how sound is loud In and out of the cocpit,in fly by etc),and general loudnes and type of sound is handeled by sampels.I m just saying that i have instaled a bunch of new sounds modding just sampels and its working perfectly.And no im not trying to argue with you just trying to learn some new stuff. by modding the prs you could assign unique samples for each gun

what you see in the soundmod was probably just a quick solution to batch assign same wav's for several guns

Hi Istvan, may be you could do a prs splitted and duplicated as per introduce/change some sound-mod for guns? For example I've d/l recently a new 50 cal sound but even it is ok for b17 rear gunner, when I've fired with a F3F I realized this new sample .50 browning was really a bad sound applied to this particular (and other) p'lanes , so reading your reply I think that you may be have the ability to make a good "folder" for new modded sound (?).. if you also like .. and have time to do it obviously :wink:

All,

I jave some pretty good sound samples that I want to use. I already have the .50 Cal and MK108 sounds working. I am currently working on getting the others in their respective places but some of the file names ( even in the .prs files ) are very ambiguous. I am currently searching all of the prs files for the samples that are used for the .30 Cal and .303. Hopefully with any luck I can find at least a few and replace the sounds. I would very much like to find the ones controlling the 17.9mm and the cannons for the BF109E-4 model....to me the MG sounds for the early 109's are VERY weak.
