I've noted that as membership has increased on the board the volume of "I WANT!...I WANT!...I WANT!!!!" has also gone up. Perhaps the creation of a "penalty box" or "chill out box" which would be a topic area where the most rabid (active) members demanding (asking) for new mods, especially those of the most esoteric and arcane type....well these folks could be redirected to the aforementioned penalty or chill out box where they could post to their heart's content....kinda of "get it out of their systems".

Of course actual folks which do the coding and modding would know not to go into the penalty box as it is designed merely as an echo chamber until the person with the 10,000 requests per minute rate of fire exhausted themselves by watching their own requests go unanswered....or maybe mocked.

Some of us....maybe bored...a slow day on the board....might even lurk in this penalty box so we could be entertained by the thrashing about.

What do you all think

If some of you were here months ago when we had a fraction of the membership it was nothing like this.
Now we have literaly thousands of members, the requests and input is going to multiply dramaticaly..
Some of the newer members are starting to sound like the fun police...

I also think that some guys genuinely don't understand what can and cannot be done here, and probably don't realise that there is just a small cadre of modders, not some large fraternity churning out the mods!..

I think it may be time to post a sticky entitled "AAA posting etiquette" where the subjects that you note are addressed such as how to approach asking for mods, like something as simple as

1. "use search before asking!", and
2. "there are only x number of people here working on mods, so think about how your request will be viewed when you ask to mod the fly on the door of the outhouse",

and other such requests so that we can keep the petitions here to a manageable size or otherwise moderate the....um...intemperate requests which if not restrained have a tendency to drown out the earnest work the few are doing. :wink:
