Il2 prop colour killer mod beta v2
==============================

This is a quick little mod to remove the hideous coloured propellor spinner on the Russian Il2 Sturmoviks.

Update from 1st version;
========================
v2 Now includes proper folder structure, installation & credits updated to reflect.

Installation
============
Just throw this into your MODS folder. Your file structure should look like this;

..../IL-2 Sturmovik 1946/MODS/Il2_prop_colour_killer_mod_beta/3D0/Plane/...then the various Il2 folders included...

You will of course need the Sound Mod, & wrapper etc. available elsewhere on the site.

Removal
=======
It's a beta mod, if you don't like it just chuck it in the round file (delete it) Smile

Credits
=======

Thanks to Canon for bringing this up, I'd had this idea for a fix on the back burner for ages but his suggestion motivated me to pull the finger out and get it working Smile

Thanks to vpmedia for spotting the mistake in the folder structure of the 1st version

Brilliant - thanks Willy Smile

Where is the hub getting it's texture from now then?

Scrap my question - I just read your other post. So glad the texture is coming from the actual skin file now.

Thanks so much Smile

Feel free to request a historical VVS skin of your choice Smile

I noticed one problem: '3do/planes' folders are missing inside 'Il2_prop_colour_killer_mod_beta'

I glad you're all enjoying this quick little mod, I say quick with all sincerity, I slapped it together while making lasagne yesterday afternoon, hence the mindset when posting it up Smile

I have a few other quick little mods and will get them up soon as I can.

Thanks Joe that's an offer I would normally never refuse, since I'm quite partial to the stuff coming from 'house of canon' Smile

However I don't want to hold you back for a moment from your current project (I'd probably be lynched) and apart from that I wouldn't know where to start...that said it sounds like you have an Il2 on the go?

Well, despite working on the English Channel map I'm also doing some Yak-3 skins, so I'm capable of multi-tasking Smile I do plan to do some Il-2s soon too, which is why I initially requested the mod Smile

Ah well if that's the case and at the risk of getting lynched Big Grin , maybe you could multi task your way to a 402 IAP Yak-3 1944 vintage, reference page 200 / 201 of Erik's great book, I'd welcome it with an open skin folder :mrgreen:

The flying sword splitting the swastika is impressive nose art I find. A generic of that would be very cool.

Nice job Willy. Very grateful for this. Must have been a great lasagne if the mod is anything to go by :wink:

One question though, can you pinpoint which part of the skin it uses?

No worries Bee, funnily enough I don't know what the lasagne was like, well not yet. It always seems better the next day, so I'm having it tonight...shortly in fact. So if I don't show up tomorrow.... :mrgreen:

Here you go, this is at 1:1 so if you feel the need you can super impose it in photoshop, it'll line up with the bottom right corner. Better yet go to http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/ and get the original template by Jester.
