Arrow Ok, this is not set in stone, this is just the way I have done it in the past.

If you have W.Xp... right click on a sound sample and in the pop up you will see a setting
"RECORD" you can alter the sound volumes by 25 % stages, very eazy way to get the volumes to your own preferances.

The more complex way is to go into the PRESET FILE for each aircraft and you will see the example below for each engine rpm...

[sample.xSakae_2700.wav.rpm]
minlo 1900
minhi 2400
maxlo 6000
maxhi 6500
value 5.0
pmin -1.0
pmax 2700

The value setting seems to have somthing to do with volume,Min of 0.0 and a Max of 6.0 ,BUT
make shure you make a copy before you start messin around in there cos its eazy to **** things up.
Hope all this is of some help to you mate

This way(for me) is a lot easyer and it works just fine. Before eliots mod i have had another startup sound by huxley(i think) wich just changes that crapy stock click when u start the engine. So i have mixed that sound (with sound recorder) with eliots startup sound and result is awesome.U mix sounds in an edit section of recorder.I have also tweaked a volume a bit
oh,btw recorder shuld be in start-programs-sound Tongue

Arrow Unfortunatly, this is small fry at the moment , the site is in the early stages of adding new aircraft, so small tweaks like this one will just sit in the shadows , so dont feel too upset if your thread dose nt get the attention you think it should, dont get me wrong, small tweaks like this one make a big differance to immersion and im all for that, but even small tweaks require alot of file diggin to even find the one your after let alone trying to figure out how to mod it Big Grin

Hey eliot, i have been mixing sound mods 0.90 and 0.93(just added engine sounds of 0.93).Everything works great, but the engine sound within the cocpit is to quiet(onlywith zero;the rest are god).So witch files are responsibile for sake in cocpit sound(witch wav file) so i can play with volume wav and prs if necesery (god damn spelling,i will never learn  ) Big Grin

P.S:I didnt touch your tempest sound

Arrow Any file with an X in front is external , so all the others will be internal and just for good measure all of the internal wav files star at the top of samples folder and all of the external wav files are near the botttom of the samples folder... Big Grin
