SFX sound mod
#1

I'm not an experienced programmer like many here and I'm afraid I need the idiot's version of how to pull this rar apart and add some of the new samples to the soundmod 093 I've already installed.

I've read the readme and very much appreciate the hard work from the mod's creator

What I want to do is just add some of the new sample sounds from the SFX v.7 rar so I don't lose the bulk of sounds (like guns, etc.) from the 093 version. I just want to change over some of the engine sounds to the new SFX ones.

The subfolders in the SFX rar don't have corresponding ones in the MODS folder. I just basically want to overwrite a couple of engine sounds. How do I do that?

I'm a bit nervous about trial and error because I've already had one conflict and had to re-install il2 from a backup file, then start all over with the mods again. Bit of help would be fantastic.

Thanks in advance 8) cheers

Mod SFX not compatible with old soundmod... You may make it only manuality...
manual mixing soundmod and SFX (for new wrapper) - as example use db605, copy preset and samples what you want replace in soundmod from SFX in soundmod preset and samples folders. For correct working you need change preset name motor.DB-605_Series.prs(from SFX) on motor.DB-600_Series.prs (change also DB-601 for all bf 109). Don't copy buttons file from sfx to soundmod

sorry bad english

That's okay. I've just found the WIP thread and read that paragraph, but between the language difference and my programming ignorance, it is very difficult for me to understand what I'm doing.

The numbers next to the sampling files, such as db605_3000 do they represent engine rpm? Can I just add your samples to those already there, effectively I will overwrite db605_1000 and add db605_3000 and higher to those already there (samples 1500-2702), is that okay?

I noticed there are much fewer samples in SFX and many more in 093, which are also bigger files, why is this?

What are the samples xdb605_2000 for example (in both sound mods), what is the x-file for?

I hope you'll forgive all my questions, I don't mean to be demanding, I'm just trying to learn as I go.
