Experts needed for "Blue/Green Screen Mod" for fil
#1

Ok, is it possible for any of the expert modders (or anyone who knows) to create a Mod that will only show the aircraft against a plain background when flying, so no landscape, sky, water, just effectively a Blue or Green Box, however lighting from the the source (sun) would be necessary.

The idea would be that the plane could then be isolated by using the Blue or Green screen technique, therby letting the plane be superimposed against a real world, or CG created background for the IL movie-makers.

Failing that the ability to export the 3D plane model as an Alpha Channel, but animted for the same reason?

Got to ask.

Just turning land detail to minimum and turning off clouds gave me some workable Chroma Key footage.

I guess now you could replace the Cloud mod .tga skins with Green screen skins and do a custom map with all green textures, perhaps the small "test map " would be a good candidate.

Been that busy making a "virtual set" I'd forgot about green screen.

If you're careful with camera angles "Green cloud mod" - some masking still needed.

That's the sort of thing I'm thinking of.

What would be cool is if someone could create a map with a Green sky texture, green water texture and green land texture, all the same green colour, (all the same bright green as above) as this would leave the sun in place for lighting the plane.

Using Chromakey it would be possible to remove the Green background and isolate the plane for movie-making against a new background.

Would anybody consider aking this challenge on?

It would be so hugely appreciated by the Movie-making community,

Thanks for the above screens, it's along the right track, just hope someone has the ability to mod for a 'Green studio'.

It called be called the Green Screen Map, or soemthing like it.

The green clouds work pretty good if you're careful. The fluffy clouds are brilliant in themselves as they are, but a nice tweak idea, ta Fisneaky.

Also got some reasonable results by using your other idea of turning land/water detail down to flat.

Here's my little experiment:

Calalina Rturn to the Clyde (download better quality version)
