Checked it. I think it should be 256x256. It is the same in original sandsoftime too. Working fine here.
I removed everything and "reinstalled" it. DL:ed from rapidshare, exctracted it. Working fine. Maybe you should DL/unzip it once again. Corrupted file or something. Or dare i write it...check spelling :oops:

... pits me m8 .... i just tried it with sandsoftime load.ini and got it working w/o prob .... then copied parts of it in your load.ini till i could load it

I also had the load error.. had to use Fly Zo's load.ini settings to get it to work.

Once in.. it looks great Smile

will do nicely for a small dcg campaign

All I can request is being able to see the roads when zoomed out. makes it easier to setup and plan road routes when doing the DCG campaign

OK! I tested Fly_zoConfused load.ini and it looks fine. Sky is little bit different. Tonight i will upload new beta with Fly_zoConfused Load. Gotta go to work now!

Wasn't able to get this map to load up in it's original form,had to use Fly_zo's
re-edited load.ini(Thanks Fly'). This is a very nice map, I like the scenery in
it,Thanks Very Much for making it. Big Grin

Here's a little edit mod to try out;

If you want to have both maps(OnlineMT and Kt_eastafrica)available as selections,
try this:

In your IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\MAPMODS\maps,leave the sandsoftime and Kt_eastafrica
folders as originaly named( i.e. sandsoftime,Kt_eastafrica).

Open the Kt_eastafrica folder and re-name the load.ini(fly_zo's edited ver.)to:

Kt_load.ini

Close and save.

Next, open the all.ini in your maps folder and change the entry for the eastafrica map
to this:

Kt_eastafrica Kt_eastafrica/Kt_load.ini

Close and save.

Thats it, you should now be able to select either the OnlineMT(sandsoftime)map or
the new eastafrica map. IAC, it's working for me, hope it works for you.

Thanks for the tip. I have used it myself. I wrote installation directions for replacing the sandsoftime map with my map, so it can be used in DCG and other mission generators.
That load.ini thing is mystery to me. It must be related to clouds.Tga. Well, thats what betatesting is for...

The German Motorized Company (Italian: Compagnia Autocarrata Tedesca, German: Deutsche Motorisierte Kompanie) was a small military unit formed by the Italians during the East African Campaign during World War II.

The German Motorized Company was formed from about 150 Germans who had fled from British-held Kenya and Tanganyika. A large number of the Germans arrived in Italian East Africa on the Italian ship Piave before Italy entered World War II. After 10 June 1940, once Italian dictator Benito Mussolini declared war on Britain and France, the Germans from the Piave volunteered to fight for the Italians in East Africa. Other Germans stranded in Italian East Africa were drafted for the unit as well.

On 1 July 1940, the "German Motorized Company" was formed. The unit trained in Asmara, Eritrea. Most of the volunteers had little to no military background. In addition to being "motorized" (or truck transportable), the unit included some improvised armored cars.

The Italian radio station in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, broadcast news about the German Motorized Company. The existence of this unit was of great propaganda value to the Italians.

In September 1940, the German Motorized Company first saw action in the border area between Eritrea and the Sudan. The Germans were active at Agordat and during the Battle of Keren. The German Motorized Company provided cover during the retreat from Keren (also Cheren) to Asmara.

About twenty men of the unit survived the general Italian surrender in Eritrea. This small group of men were with Amedeo, Duke of Aosta, at Amba Alagi during one of the final stages of the East African Campaign.

The company was presented with a special triangular flag by Lieutenant-General Luigi Frusci, the Italian Governor of Eritrea. The flag displayed the Italian flag on one side and the German Swastika flag on the other side.
