Hi,

After salivating around here for a few weeks, I'm ready to jump in and try out some of the fine work that's available.

I have one little question. How do I make a separate install of IL2 1946? When I run the DVD or double-click SetUp.exe on the DVD, I get the install screen and an option to Install, but then a dialog box asking me if I want to completely uninstall the application(!).

Well, you can simply just copy the main install and redirect it... but you can save the space and use the AAA switcher, which allows you to switch between:

4.08 original
4.08 modded
4.09 original
4.09 modded

with a simple double click - thats the best way to go about it

Question: Does that switcher work even if you don't have 4.09b installed? I haven't had the time yet to download it, as it takes 2 hrs with my internet connection...

Dont see why not... you'd only be able to switch between 4.08 versions though - havent tried it without .09 - give it a try, cant hurt

It is no problem to back-up your entire ubisoft folder from the program files.....onto another hard drive or partition....and run it from there....just by clicking on the il2fb.exe......or sending a new shortcut to desktop
no need to re-install
