I just loaded the void skin of a Hawk 75 from its folder into PS and made a skin.......haven't done it for ages now....there were no other skins in the folder

when i saved it OK...it is there in the folder.....but when I open il2....in the skins list for the plane...it isn't there!!!...but a load of other skins are there....which are not in the folder!!!???

What gives...???

doesn't look like it.......cannot find any other skins folders...so where are the skins available for selection coming from??

it is a new a/c with the sound mod....

Did you index the image, before saving it as a .bmp?

no..but it is saved as an 8 bit indexed BMP....puzzled here

but my skin folder for that a/c is empty apart from the void and my new one....where are the other skins ...about five ..coming from??

ff, which folders are you talking about?

Il2 root\Paint Schemes\skins? Il2 root\Paint Schemes\cache?

IL2 root\MODS\SKINMOD\3do\planes?

I had trouble with the QMB+ and setting the default skins. I was getting a default skin that didn't appear in the plane's cache file, or any of the other files mentioned above, or so I thought. I forget what the solution was at the moment, but had to do with looking in the various files mentioned and adjusting my file structure.

the skins shown above are not in there....

the Hawk mod came included in the sound mod...did it have skins with it..in code?

I disabled the skinmod in my MODS folder...but its folder was empty anyway...so it must be reading skins somewhere instead of the default location...just cannot find where

Dont know about the extra skins , but did you make sure there were no "s p a c e s" in the skin name?

Il2 Doesn't like "s_p_a_c_e_s".

Also check P-36A-3 and P-36A-4 folders

can somebody else check to see where their Hawk-75 skins are going....I still cannot understand why I only have skins available which are NOT in my default folder...and the one I put in there is NOT showing???

Put them in the P36 folder. Then they will work. I had the same trouble at first
