It's a symbol. It's the Blitzkrieg victories icon... (together to the StuKa)
Its shape and shadow went along all Europe, devasting targets on Western and Eastern fronts.
He-111 got obsolet at same time that the German Blitzkrieg war style...

My opinion is, that the He 111 is one of the most beautiful aircrafts of ww2...
