Hi modders,

i dont know it is that right place to ask for new plane but i try it.
We have Spit Mk.I (1939), we have Hurrican Mk.I (1939), we have Blenheim, we have C47, we have soon Wellington, but we dont have any german plane for BOB that was used early as 1940.
We have soon a beautieful BOB map but to start good fighting on this map, we and i need ...

Bf-109 E-3 (3 x MGFF + 2 x MG17)
He-111 P-4 or so Tongue
Ju-88 A-1

... 3D and damage model can be used from Oleg or not ???, we need only new FM a armings or not ??? i am not expert, but i think when the Spit Mk.I works fine, then ...

PLS, PLS, PLS

The engine cannon was for the same reason deleted off all E-3's in service.

But of course, we want more uber-variants, so why 3 cannons, why not 7 or 10? Or maybe 15?

I'm also for an E-3 version, more precisely the export E-3a, but only with historical weapons. The 3rd cannon can be included as an optional loadout if people really can't live without it...

But let's wait for the 3d converter, it seems to be close now, so we can have a propper E-3 model Big Grin

Yes, and have your engine fail after 30 minutes with this cannon installed.
Or after 20 shots overheat badly and a minute later fail.

hi guys, i realise the Bf109 is a very treasured plane of the BOB, and seeing a Bf109E-3 would be fantastic (it did have a cannon through engine although often removed/ overheating).

However the Bf109E-4 was converted from the E-3 simply by removing the cannon in hub, making a few structural improvements and maybe changing cockpit design which could be done in a few days.

This happened. Of several hundred units of Bf109E-3's that were in fact the largest produced of the Emil variant, they were 90% of them upgraded either before or during the early months of the Battle of Britain to E-4 standard (July - September) of 1940. This was to prepare them of the offensive over Britain and the fighting to ensue.

There were basically no performance differences except for maybe a few mph added in the E-4, which was probably reduced by structural improvments anyway.

I would like to see a Bf 109E-3 however as i think the E-4 in game is not as parallel in performance to the Spitfire Mk 1 (Mod) as i want.

Check out this link for my performance guide on the net for the Bf109E-3/E-4 Vs Spitfire MK IA:

I'm definitely for the E-3! The more aircraft, the happier I will be! Wink I absolutely love the new E-1 and playing my dynamic campaign mod with it! One day I hope we even see 109D's, 109C's, and 109A's! Wouldn't it be lovely!? I'd even like to see a 109T model (made for aircraft carrier use, however the intended carrier was never completed). Maybe one day, someone would even make a German aircraft carrier and 109T's to put on it? That would make for an awesome Alternate History Campaign!

I find those aircraft performance charts and documents very interesting, however I've been looking for something without any luck. I've been trying to locate an accurate document about aircraft weapons loadouts. NOT just telling me how a plane had a MG17, or MK108 fixed to it, but also the detailed information about how many rounds were in each gun, and other technical data. So far I haven't found anything like that. If you know where to find that sort of info, especially for Luftwaffe aircraft, let me know!

It would be nice to have, but I believe more E4's served in the BoB than E3's did.

These link doesnt work Sad

I made some reserch about Bf 109 E perfomance but its hard to find really how fast was E model at the deck. At the Kurfurst site about 109 i find that according to some test speed at sea level was from 467-500 km/h:

109 E-1 manual : ( with DB 601 Aa - 1175 hp)
sea level - 500 km/h
5 km - 570 km/h
7,5km - 550 km/h

http://kurfurst.allaboutwarfare.com/Per ... ibung.html

109 V15 prototype: near the same as above

http://www.kurfurst.org/Performance_tes ... blatt6.jpg

Swiss test:
sea level - 465 km/h-472 km/h
5km - 565 km/h

http://kurfurst.allaboutwarfare.com/Per ... _J347.html

France test:
sea level - ~480 km/h
5 km - 570 km/h ( radiator closed)

http://kurfurst.allaboutwarfare.com/Per ... anceT.html

German test 109 E-3 - with MG FF and without

sea level - 467 km/h

http://kurfurst.allaboutwarfare.com/Per ... feb39.html

It must be noted that these test was done with pre BoB 109 E which didnt have armour plate behind the pilot and armoured windscreen.

Its really hard to find how fast was Bf109 E-3 or E-4 from BOB time - with armour plate and armoured windsreen.

In Il2 4.08 BF 109 E-4 reach:

sea level - 475 km/h
5 km - 560 km/h
7.5 km - 535 km/h !

So i think it will be good if someone at least make it in right way acoording with good proof and references. Soon we will have great Chanel Map and it would be nice have Bf 109E, Spitfire MK I and Hurrciane MK I with reliable performance.

the heinkel sounds simple enough, just remove some guns and change some sounds and performance thingies and change the spelling

what we need is a B.R. 20 Cigona for the Italians that tried to help

The 109 E1 that is around here has another canopy from the outside as the E4

Maybe this one could be easile conviced to a E3 instead of the Ingame E4
