Thank God I never posted the one I did last night. That looks amazing.

It's a long shot, but if the game could be made to select and display one of several Zoil's instead of the same one every time - you'd get a much greater sense of varied types of damage.

I noticed when building a campaign, you can make each new mission load randomly from a selection if the campaign.ini looks like this:

[Main]
Class il2.game.campaign.CampaignBlue
awardsclass il2.game.campaign.AwardsDEfighter
  • Mission_1A.mis Mission_1B.mis Mission_1C.mis Mission_1D.mis
    Mission_2A.mis Mission_2B.mis Mission_2C.mis

I guess the logic is there in the game then. If it can be applied to the applicatin of the Zoil.tga though, that is another matter...

Looks awesome. I gotta say though, that the Bf-109 and Fw-190 had a mechanism to clear the windshield of any oil and dust that was on it by spraying fuel on the windshield, much like todays car windshield cleaners, though they of course use dedicated cleaning liquid.
I know this probably isn't possible in the Il-2 engine, but at least BoB seems to have it, they even modelled the fuel line with which the fuel is sprayed on the windshield.

Interesting stuff Klemm. Thanks!
Shouldn't be a problem though, as each cockpit has it's own ZOil.tga You could design a diluted oil version for use on individual 109 and 190's. Some kind of semi-transparent, streaky version perhaps.

Thank you guys, and don’t forget that is Brophmeister’s and Fisneaky’s ideas here.

That's why it take so long to pack it, I had to know which file and where from each cockpit draws it. Seems that majority of cockpits have it, but draws it from different location (very weird organized) and it is the same file which looks differently on each plane according to 3D model of the windshield, on some planes its better and on some its worse. (it’s great on P51 for example). And there is no sense in making different for each plane, it will look the same.

I didn’t know that for BF and FW cleaning system, but I can try to make some semi transparent blury one, with gasoline drops and streaks.

Now make it for blood inside the cockpit Big Grin

*goremode on"

Maybe in a bomber when you copilot get killed. This will put 100 % more dramatic to the game !
